The Youth Radio Network is a digital place where young people can easily access and develop their skills and interests. It acts as a sounding board for youth news and issues and promotes all youth organizations. The Youth Radio Network's focus is on young people, and topical issues such as Bullying, Racism, LGBT and much more. Our music is generally chart music, and we play any young artists/bands from across the world. The aim is to have a fresh and upbeat sound and something that young people feel; they can get involved in and we encourage our young people to influence the music we play. There are also opportunities for our listeners to
interact with radio programmes. We will highlight any young musicians, artists or bands, after all, it’s the internet and you never know who may be discovered next!
The Youth Radio Network is completely digital so anyone can present for us from any location! We also want to help young people ages 16 to 25 years old get into employment and we hope that we can help open many doors for young people looking for a career in the broadcasting and media industries.

Our vision

The Youth Radio Network’s vision is to empower, teach and entertain young people, aged 13 to 25 years,
through the power of music and digital technology, opening doors to the broadcast industries, and to become
more employable helping them to get the best start in life.

Featured Band: Phoenix 22

“Phoenix 22” are an original folk/rock/pop band, established in 2018, writing our first song “Rise” about rising after every fall and how important ‘Self-love’ is!

Lead singer/songwriter Christine Purdie has been writing songs since she was 12. Our sound is raw with guitar-driven melodies and powerful vocals we feel at home on any stage!

They also cover songs from bands we love and have inspired us I.e Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Kings of Leon and Skunk and Nancy to name a few. Phoenix 22 aim to get well known in Scotland UK and abroad.

They jam in Glasgow and have done many open mics. Performing live is an adrenaline rush! Nothing beats hearing a song you have written come to life! Christine Purdie’s vocals are raw with emotion with thought-provoking lyrics.

Lead guitarist Adam Robinson is a gifted writer and guitarist who moved to Scotland from England in 2018, where he met Christine and together they have written and collaborated on many songs.

Their vision is to be the next big band from Scotland! Phoenix 22 will continue to write meaningful songs based on real-life experience with the hope the songs they write help others in difficult times escape in the lyrics and relate and feel less alone.

The name “Phoenix 22” was inspired by the myth of the Phoenix rising from The ashes after every fall! And 22 in spirituality means to manifest a dream.
